The first day of Autumn has passed and I’m still wearing a floral maxi! The weather is completely unpredictable in California and you never know what to expect. I am eagerly waiting for the rain to come so I can pull out my fall outfits. Pouring rain is my favorite! Of course, I would much rather be snuggled up indoors with a hot cup of coffee, but dressing up and getting outdoors entails its own type of thrill.
When I purchase dresses, there are two criteria to look for: material and style. This shoulder tie shift dress from Tobi fulfills both requirements. The dress is made of cotton, which makes it uber comfortable. The style of the dress immediately takes me on vacation. I wore the dress to the beach in Santa Cruz with my bathing suit underneath. The added shoulder tie makes for the ideal feminine look.
I have always wanted to add a shift dress to my closet. The elegance and shape of this type of dress style are chic and memorable. The best part, you don’t see the love handles! Eat your favorite burger and fries and you won’t have to suck it in afterward. This Tobi shift dress is perfect for work since it is slightly conservative and for date night, you add heels, a few pieces of jewelry and you’re set!
This is the most comfortable button up ever! I got this Anthropologie button up earlier this year. Before I tried it on, I felt the cloth and it felt like heaven. I always work and function best when I’m comfortable with what I am wearing. I filmed a tutorial with this look as well which was inspired by Kylie Jenner. With the top, I added a simple necklace since the top was plain and paired it with white denim jeans. Wedges were the perfect to dress up the look a little more. To dress down the look I would have worn sandals or flats.
Don’t we all have those days when we’re not sure of what to wear? Sometimes I’m feeling monochromatic while at other times I want to wear bright colors and be seen from the other side of the city! I was having a gray day and wanted to wear comfortable pieces that still looked chic. I forced myself to pair two recent additions to my closet and it was a hit in my opinion. I wouldn’t ever think about wearing a coat over shorts, but I think I’m going to start doing this quite often.
