Celebrations

Finally, I turn 24! On October 30th, there were multiple celebrations: my birthday, anniversary, and Diwali! (Yes, I’m a lovely Scorpio.) The day was packed with excitement, lots of food, a ton of hugs and dancing. I turned the big 2-4 and I truly wish I could remain 23 forever. Twenty-three seems like the perfect age. There are so many things to accomplish, but yet I keep getting older! I know 24 isn’t ‘old’, but I have always been the one to think that by a certain age, I should have accomplished most of my goals. The other I get, the more I realize that I couldn’t have been more incorrect!

It was a bit chilly on Sunday since it was raining earlier in the day, so I decided to wear my favorite Anthropologie Fair Isle Pullover by Sleeping on Snow. The details on this pullover are impeccable and I’m sure this will stay in my closet for many years to come! Sleeping on Snow has some amazing pieces that feel comfortable and look great. You can check out some of their current pieces for this season here, here, here, and here.

This cake was my favorite! I’m not a fan of overly sweet cakes, and this was perfect. The mango flavor was out of this world and I wish there were leftovers, but it was gone by the end of the night. My cousin Harveen picked it up from our favorite Persian bakery, Bijan.

The other important celebration was my anniversary. My significant other Kamal and I celebrated our 8 years together. Well, it really wasn’t much of a celebration. Kamal had to get to work and I had to get back home to the small gathering at my house. We quickly grabbed some pizza and decided we would celebrate our anniversary later in the week.

Also, Diwali happened to fall on my birthday this year—hence the candles everywhere! Diwali is the festival of lights which was originally celebrated in India, and now across the globe. I absolutely love sparklers! I handed everyone a sparkler and we had some fun!
